Colour Consciousness for Valentine’s Day

Posted by @ B H i on February 15, 2007

  Colours propel their presence in all locales and objects that we encounter in our day-to-day activities. Colours also specify certain moods and qualities. Take a glimpse at the significance of colours and use them appropriately in your Valentine’s Day attire and gifts.

Red (Already Booked).Red is the colour of energy, liveliness, love and sexual passion. That is why red roses, red attires and gifts wrapped in red play a dominant role on Valentine’s Day. Red communicates your passion towards your beloved or towards love itself. Maroon and brick red symbolize fun and love.

 Pink/Rose (I am Freeeeeeeeeeee)Pink is an expression of freshness, love, affection, understanding and sweetness. Pink can be the ideal choice for Valentine’s Day and will subtly help bring to surface the love for your partner. It can also add more love into your lives.

Orange (Waiting)
Orange is the colour of energy, creativity and practicality. It also denotes happiness and can pep up your moods when your spirits are low.

Yellow (Ready for a friendship)Yellow signifies inspiration, spontaneity, communication and novelty. This colour’s liveliness and vitality encourage conversation. So communicate your feelings for your loved one near a soft yellow flamed candle. A Yellow dress for a woman will do well on Valentine’s Day.

 Blue (Going 2 Propose)Light blue symbolizes creativity, perceptivity and sensitivity. It also ushers a peaceful and a calm scenario and so is effective to smoothen or balance your emotions. Freshness is one of its properties and is suggested if you prefer a more steady and paced approach to your feelings. Dark blue signifies intelligence, self-reliance and deep feelings. A combination of blue and green can promote self-expression. Dark blue can be an ideal colour for a man for Valentine’s Day outfit.

 Green (Accepted Proposal)Green suggests humanism, benevolence, observance and caution. Though a bit cautious in every approach in life and relationships, it induces understanding which is one of the most important requirements in one’s relationship. Dark green shirt for a man and lighter shades of green for women’s outfit will make good Valentine’s Day attires.

Purple(Not interested)Purple denotes intuition. Intuitions play a major role in romance. This in turn can induce passion. Grapes are always oriented with love and wine is always a chosen gift for the loved one during Valentine’s Day. Purple is purely feminine and a light purple or a mauve outfit for a woman will generate cuteness on Valentine’s Day.

 White (Leave me alone) White is a colour of purity, optimism and innocence. It consists of all the colours in the spectrum. White roses given to your beloved can mean ‘ You are celestial’ or ‘our love is pure’. They can be employed denoting the impeccable love that has stood the test of time and trials. Both men and women can choose a white outfit for the Valentine’s Day.

  Grey (Broke up)Grey denotes good judgment capabilities and also non-involvement. So it may not be the right colour to be chosen for Valentine’s Day dress or a setting. Though a beautiful shade on its own, it does not bring in the freshness desired for Valentine’s Day when worn by a woman. However a grey outfit for man can look fine.

Black / Brown  (Proposal rejected)Black and Brown can both be incorporated in a man’s Valentine’s Day attire individually. Black denotes independence, authority and boldness while brown stands for honesty and a down to earth attitude towards life. Women can opt for more feminine and pastel shades for Valentine’s Day.

 So choose your outfits and gifts with the appropriate colours on this Valentine’s Day!!!!

Hope you are in right dress code so that nobody is misguided.

Valentine’s Day : Importance Of Color Of Rose

Posted by @ B H i on February 14, 2007

The rose called the flower of love is one of the most popular and oldest flowers known to man. The word rose has come from the Latin word rosa meaning red and has been a symbol of love since ancient times. Nebuchadnezzar used roses to adorn his palace; Persian used roses for perfume oil and to fill the Sultan’s mattress. And in Kashmir, the Mughal emperors cultured rose gardens and rivers were strewn with rose petals to welcome them on their return from wars.

The rose was created by Chloris, the Greek goddess of flowers. One day she found a lifeless body of a nymph in the woods. She asked for the help of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who gave her beauty; Dionysus, the god of wine, bestowed nectar to give her a sweet scent, and the three Graces gave her charm, brightness and joy. Then the West Wind, Zephyr blew the clouds away and the Sun god Apollo shone upon her, making the Rose bloom.

Rose is the most prevalent flower that is given on Valentine’s Day or by lovers in general. This beautiful and majestic flower speaks of many eternal love stories. Known for its sensuous scent and delicate petals, Rose brings out all the colors of a relationship.

But roses come in many colors and each of these roses has a separate meaning. So this Valentine before selecting a valentine rose for your sweetheart know what that color rose stands for. Let the magical rose speak the expressions of your heart for you. Here are the different colored roses with their meanings.

Red Rose

Red roses glorify “I love you.” They are the ultimate symbol of love filled with romance and passion. So if on this Valentine you wish to say “I Love You” to someone or want to propose to your sweetheart, then red valentine roses are just for you.

Pale Pink Rose

Pale pink roses signify grace, gentleness, and gratitude. You can give them to your sweetheart and to a person whom you respect a lot.

Light Pink Rose

Light pink roses express fun, happiness and joy. Share this pink Valentine rose with your friends and family.

Deep Pink Rose

Deep pink roses say “Thank you.” Show your gratitude and warmth with deep pink valentine roses.

Lilac Rose

This rose is for love at first sight. The rose indicates that the sender has fallen head over heels in love with you and is just crazy about you.

Valentine’s Day : History of Valentine Day

Posted by @ B H i on February 14, 2007

Valentine’s Day celebration dates back to the ancient times when the ‘Feast of Lupercal’ was celebrated in the honour of the Roman God of Fertility. This day falls on the 15th of February every year. According to a time worn custom, on the eve of Lupercalia (14th of Feb) a ritual of ‘name drawing’ was followed, during which a young man drew the name of a girl from the lot, who was to be his sweetheart for the whole year. Romance, has, of course always made the world go round but we must say that these Romans knew how to make it official. Since then, this day (14th of Feb) has been considered as the day of Cupid, the mischievous son of Venus -the Roman Goddess of Love. Lovers through the ages have taken this day as their own – a day to celebrate the finest human emotion. The reason for celebration is ageless, but it was much later that a great lover gave the day his name.

All For Love

The eternal lover that gave us the famous word ‘Valentine’ and originated the tradition of writing love letters on this day, is believed to be Bishop Valentine. He was a priest in Rome when, the city was ruled by ‘Claudius the Cruel’. Inspite of the fact that Claudius had forbidden Christian conversions and Christian marriages, the Bishop refused to surrender to Roman Gods and carried on his religious duties in secret. He was imprisoned for disobedience, but even in prison he converted the convicts. While he was in prison, the jailer’s daughter became his friend and was loyal to him through his ordeal. When Claudius came to know that imprisonment had not broken his enduring Christian spirit, the bishop was executed. However, on the day of his death Valentine wrote a note to his friend, ‘the jailer’s daughter’ and signed it – ‘From Your Valentine’. This great man who died for his beliefs, for his enduring love of the Christian God, was chosen as the patron Saint of lovers. 14th February has since been celebrated as Valentine’s Day. Romantic souls all over the world have preferred to focus on the romantic twist of this tale, the story of the man who united lovers in the holy bond of marriage; a man who loved his jailer’s daughter and started the tradition of writing love notes.

Back To Nature

There is indeed, no lack of inspiration for believers in love and romance. Romantic significance of the 14th of February crosses human boundaries and enters the heart of nature – it was a popular belief in the olden times that the birds chose their mates on this day.

Listen to Your Heart Today

Be it the world of the winged lovers or those with their feet firmly on the ground and their thoughts in the clouds, the popularity of this holiday, among those young at heart proves that the heart does go on. So all you lovers and ‘ wannabe’ lovers out there, rise in love (literally) and stake your claim. To help you carry on the cherished tradition of celebrating your love,we, at My Dear Valentine.com, are just providing new ways to cope with those exuberant, exhilarating and simply undeniable bursts of emotion. Poem : Erotic Love Poems : Happy Valentine’s Day

Posted by @ B H i on February 13, 2007

Ready For Love
By hoot_owl_rn

Take my hand and lead the way;
tell me all you want to say.
Whisper softly in my ear,
all those things I want to hear.
Kiss my lips and touch my skin;
bring out passions deep within.
Pull me close and hold me near;
take away my pain and fear.
In the darkness of the night,
be my beacon, shine your light.
In the brightness of the sun,
show me that you are the one.
Give me wings so I can fly;
for I can soar when you’re nearby.
Enter my heart, break down the wall,
it’s time for me to watch it fall.
I’ve been a prisoner, can’t you see?
Break my chains and set me free.
Strip me of my armor tight;
you’ll find I won’t put up a fight.
Release my soul held deep within . . .
I’m ready now, let love begin.
